MEDPort’s Private Label Line of Fit & Fresh™ Containers Gets a Healthy Boost in Shelf Appeal with Milliken Millad^® NX™ 8000 Clarifier

Ghent, Belgium – MEDPort LLC, manufacturer of the Fit & Fresh™ family of products for healthy eating on the go, upgraded to polypropylene (PP) clarified with the advanced Millad® NX™ 8000 clarifying agent from Milliken & Company. MEDPort made the move to Millad® NX™ 8000 to create a private label line of Fit & Fresh containers offering exceptional clarity, brightness and overall shelf appeal for discerning consumers. Working closely with the Milliken team and its PP supplier, MEDPort achieved its goal of glass-like clarity for the recently launched product line, which includes Lunch on the Go, 2-in-1 Salad Shakers and Smart Portion™ Chill Containers 2 Cup – all with removable ice packs.

Milliken provided a range of support services to MEDPort and its molder to ensure a smooth transition to Millad® NX™ 8000 clarifier. Milliken experts supplied clarified PP resin samples and assisted with process optimization for the first batches of the new products.

Polypropylene clarified with Millad® NX™ 8000 technology provides a winning combination of crystalline transparency and brightness, as compared to the less-attractive yellowish cast that can occur with traditional clarifiers. Consumers tend to equate clarity and brightness in food containers with purity, safety and quality. Further, with Millad® NX™ 8000, transparency is no longer limited to thin or highly oriented parts, allowing thicker-wall parts to approach the look of clear materials such as glass or amorphous polymers. This property enabled MEDPort to design more-substantial walls for durability and a long useful life while maintaining optimal aesthetics.
