Borouge services Chinese growth with expanded office in Puxi, Shanghai
The new office will support Borouge’s booming business in the rapidly expanding Chinese market and the tripling of Borouge’s production capacity by 2010.
Borouge, the leading provider of innovative plastics solutions in the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa, today announced that it moves its Shanghai office to Plaza 66 Tower 2 at Nanjing Xi Lu, located in the heart of Puxi, Shanghai, with effect from June 18 2007.

Borouge awards US$300 million olefins conversion unit contract for Borouge 2 expansion project

Borealis sells its petrochemical business in Norway to Ineos

Continuing with the restructuring of its Norwegian operations, Borealis AS announces that it has reached an agreement to sell its petrochemical business in Bamble, Norway, to Ineos for EUR 290 million. It has also been decided to create a new independent innovation company to take over its innovation centre in Bamble and to retain the existing group support functions at the location as a separate unit.

The premium position of Borclear RF926MO in the expanding PP ISBM market segment is further consolidated by tripling Borclear’s operating temperature window for the critical stretch blow moulding process. This permits shorter cycle times and a more consistent wall thickness distribution that leads to a better homogeneity of the bottle. It also creates greater value by allowing increased design flexibility, tackling more complex and differentiated shapes.

Borealis announces R$18 million investment in Brazil
Borealis, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, will invest R$ 18 million in the acquisition of a new extrusion line to enlarge its Itatiba (SP) plant. Borealis has two production units in Brazil located in Itatiba (SP) and Triunfo (RS). The investment, which will serve the automotive and appliances markets, will increase the polypropylene (PP) compounding capacity of the plant by 11,000 tonnes per annum and is due for completion in mid-2008.

Borouge announces launch of the Gulf Plastics Pipe Academy to promote the use of high quality plastics pipe systems
Borouge today announced the launch of the Gulf Plastics Pipe Academy (GPPA), of which it is a founding member. The GPPA, formally launched by Harald Hammer, CEO, Borouge Pte Ltd at Dubai PlastPro, is set to play an important role in increasing the use of high quality plastics pipe systems in the Middle East.
