DSM ENGINEERING PLASTICS LAUNCHES ARNITEL ECO
Following the successful introduction of EcoPaXX™, a bio-based, high performance engineering plastic, DSM Engineering Plastics will be launching Arnitel® Eco at K 2010. Arnitel Eco is a high performance thermoplastic copolyester (TPC) with a 20%-50% content derived from renewable resources, depending on the hardness of the grade. The new material, which is already being sampled to selected customers, is specifically suited for applications in Consumer Electronics, Sports & Leisure and Automotive Interior.

Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and DSM announced their alliance for Automotive Developments in India. STANYL FORTII USED IN MEMORY CARD CONNECTORS FOR PRINTERS
Taisol Electronics, the second largest Taiwanese memory card manufacturer with branch offices in China, Singapore, Japan, USA and worldwide distribution, has commercialized halogen-free V-0 Stanyl® ForTii™ for its 5-in-1 memory card socket, readily usable for Memory StickTM, SD CardTM, MMCTM, Smart MediaTM, and xD-Picture CardTM. These 5-in-1 memory card connectors are already used in printers produced by one of the leading top two OEMs. Such memory card connectors are a central interface in today’s Electronics. Applications include Notebooks, Desktop PCs, Card readers, LCD Projectors, Monitors, etc.

DSM ENGINEERING PLASTICS ANNOUNCES PRICE INCREASES ON ARNITEL AND ARNITE
As a result of continued escalations in the costs of key raw materials, DSM Engineering Plastics will increase prices on a global basis for its ARNITEL® and ARNITE® products. Effective 1 May 2010, DSM will increase prices for these products by at least 10% on a global basis.

COPERATION BETWEEN BOZZIO, DSM, BERN UNIVERSITY AND DYNAMIC TEST CENTER BRINGS SAFER MOBILITY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY
The joysteer® X-by-wire system with precision gears made of Stanyl® PA 46 resin from DSM Engineering Plastics is now in commercial production for the handicapped market and available from car modification companies in Switzerland, Germany and the Benelux. This rapid development from prototype to successful commercialisation was achieved by the Swiss company Bozzio within record time of just three years. In this period, Bozzio obtained the strictest level of safety approvals for the European market (TÜV approval according to ECE-R 13H braking system and ECE-R 79 steering system), making joysteer®x-by-wire commercially available to provide people with a disability a user-friendly solution to drive a car with safety and confidence. This is the first system with such a high safety level.

DSM AND MCC SIGN CONTRACTS TO EXCHANGE POLYCARBONATE AND POLYAMIDE BUSINESSES

DSM ACQUIRES FULL OWNERSHIP OF NPC PA6 POLYMER FACILITY
Royal DSM N.V., the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company headquartered in the Netherlands, and Shaw Industries Group, Inc. announce today that DSM has acquired full control of the PA6 polymerization facility of Nylon Polymer Company LLC (NPC) in Augusta (Georgia, United States). Shaw Industries and DSM Chemicals North America were previously joint venture partners in NPC.
