Arnitel PB500-H:
DSM blow molding grade approved for FIAT car platforms
Arnitel PB500-H has been approved for dirty and clean air ducts, assembled on the 1.3 JTD engines, on the FIAT Group Automobiles platforms FIAT Minicargo and LANCIA Epsilon (euro V) & for the new LANCIA Epsilon. Dirty air ducts convey the air before the air filter, whereas clean air ducts are situated in the engine between the air filter and the turbo-compressor.

As a result of continued escalations in the costs of key raw materials, DSM Engineering Plastics will increase prices on a global basis for its ARNITEL® and ARNITE® products. Effective 1 Feb 2011, DSM will increase prices for these products by at least 15% on a global basis.

DSM Engineering Plastics announces it has reached an agreement for the sale of its Yparex® adhesives business to RESIN (Products & Technology) B.V., a Netherlands-based compounding company. DSM Engineerging Plastics Europe has announced it will increase prices for its Akulon and Novamid PA6 and PA66 portfolios, due to unprecedented and continued escalations in key raw materials costs (such as benzene, caprolactam, glass fiber, flame retardants and others). Since the beginning of 2011, we have seen a number of significant raw material cost increases.

DSM and KuibyshevAzot announce strategic cooperation in Russia
Royal DSM N.V., the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company headquartered in the Netherlands, and KuibyshevAzot OJSC (KA) today announce a strategic cooperation. As a result of this strategic cooperation, DSM Engineering Plastics will enter into two joint ventures with KA. In both joint ventures DSM Engineering Plastics will hold a majority share. In addition, KA will be granted a license under DSM Fibre Intermediates’ technology for the production of cyclohexanone.

DSM ENGINEERING PLASTICS EXTENDS DIABLO FAMILY FOR FURTHER WEIGHT REDUCTION IN AUTOMOTIVE UNDER-THE-BONNET APPLICATIONS
Following the successful introduction in 2007 of Stanyl® Diablo OCD2100, a high performance grade of Stanyl for under-the-bonnet (UTB) applications, DSM has introduced new Diablo high heat resins: Stanyl Diablo® OCD2300 and Akulon Diablo® injection and blow molding grades. These products are a direct response to some of the main trends in the automotive industry, including weight reduction. The new materials also facilitate system cost optimizations and productivity gains, long term sustainability and reduced environmental impact.
