The new grade is designed to support customers who appreciate the excellent thermal stability, broad processing range and very good melt strength of EcoPaXX.

DSM announces Akulon and Novamid polyamide 6 polymer price increases for Europe and the Americas

As a result of increasing raw material prices DSM will increase the price for its Akulon® and Novamid® polyamide 6 polymers. DSM will increase prices by € 100/t in Europe, and by $0.10/lb in North and South America. These increases will take effect for all orders shipped on or after February 1, 2014 where contracts allow.

DSM joins LIPA-Team to develop series production of advanced thermoplastic composites parts

Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company, announces it has joined the LIPA-Team, set up to develop an industrial process for the manufacture of endless-fibre-reinforced advanced thermoplastic composite parts. LIPA stands for "Lightweight Integrated Process Application." DSM will contribute with materials know-how and in-depth understanding of polyamide 6 applications.

DSM partners with Petropol Polimeros to meet growing demand for Akulon polyamide 6 in South America

Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences Company, has signed an agreement with Petropol Polimeros, a leading engineering plastics compound producer in South America with more than 20 years' experience in engineering plastics. Under the terms of the agreement, which became effective on Oct 1st 2013, Petropol Polimeros will produce Akulon® polyamide 6 compounds, which DSM will market and sell to its customers throughout South America. Financial details were not released.

DSM approves BDO made using Genomatica's process for use in Arnitel products

DSM has tested and approved bio-based BDO (1,4-butanediol) made with Genomatica's process, for use in DSM's Arnitel® TPC (ThermoPlastic Copolyester). DSM makes breakthrough in polyamide blown film processing with Akulon XS

Thanks to its improved crystallisation properties, Akulon XS has an extended processing window, providing new opportunities in designing co-extruded multi-layer as well as monolayer film structures. Processors notice significant improvements in production when using the new Akulon XS.
