100% Design anniversary features ‘Bright’ building, made from Spectar® sheet
New product design and manufacturing company, ‘Bright’, will be helping to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the 100% Design Exhibition in the UK by erecting some of their new origami style, flat-pack, geodesic buildings’ made from Spectar® sheet inside Earls Court as key features at this year’s event. These ‘buildings’ are based on a revolutionary concept in semi-permanent spatial design. The product is designed by the team at ‘Bright’ which includes designer Nick Gant – who is perhaps better known as director of award winning design consultancy and regular 100% Design exhibitor, BoBo.

When Brazilian designer Lars Diederichsen needed a material for the new chair he was designing, he looked for something beautiful, easy to work with, and reasonably priced. He chose Spectar® copolyester from Eastman Chemical Company, and the result was his creative “Giro” chair.

Just Cavalli: Glass Polymer™ helps create high tech perfume packaging
G. Candiani of Italy has selected The Glass Polymer™ from Eastman Chemical Company to help produce the bottle for Just Cavalli, a new Roberto Cavalli fragrance. The transparent bottle is made up from different fully integrated parts: a glass core, a resin shoulder and a protective housing made from Eastar® AN014 copolyester.

Innovation and technology for award winning Pro Active Chair

Sharp Design Lets Surgical Blades Package Cut Costs
Packaging is normally thought of as a cost. Leading surgical instrument maker, Linvatec reverse engineered a package design that reduced material costs by about 16 percent, and increased manufacturing capacity by approximately 15 percent. This cost-effective packaging was the result of work by the package consolidation experts at Perfecseal using Eastar® 6763 copolyester produced by Eastman Chemical Company.
