SABIC erweitert sein Portfolio von Lexan* Polycarbonaten durch neue, hochwertige Materialien für Unterhaltungselektronik, Haushaltstechnik und LED-Beleuchtung
ORLANDO, Florida (USA) – 3. April 2012 – Der Geschäftsbereich Innovative Plastics von SABIC kündigte heute auf der NPE 2012 (Stand 29000) wichtige Erweiterungen seines führenden Hochleistungs-Polycarbonat-Portfolios (PC) Lexan* an: Lexan CFR (clear flame retardant = durchsichtig flammwidrig) Copolymer, sowie drei neue Lexan LUX Kunststofftypen. Lexan CFR Copolymer erfüllt die steigende Nachfrage von Herstellern in den Bereichen Unterhaltungselektronik und Haushaltstechnik nach einem durchsichtigen, flammwidrigen (FR) Material. Die neuen Lexan LUX-Polymere bieten sich als herausragende Lösung für Lumineszenz-Dioden-Anwendungen (LED), wie Lichtleiter und Linsen, an. Diese neuen PC-Werkstoffe der Lexan-Familie demonstrieren die kontinuierlichen Investitionen von SABIC in Technologien auf Weltniveau, anwendungstechnisches Know-how und ein vielfältiges Produktspektrum. Phostech Lithium Plant Officially Opens

Candiac, Québec (Canada), April 2, 2012 - Representatives from Clariant and Süd-Chemie, as well as Canadian and Québec government officials, today celebrated the official opening of a new battery materials manufacturing plant at Phostech Lithium Inc, a Clariant group company. The plant produces carbon coated lithium iron phosphate (C-LiFePO4) a high performance energy storage material used in batteries for electric vehicle drives, stationary energy storage and other applications. The facility will create more than 50 new jobs, helping to contributing to stimulate the regional economy.

Zuverlässige Datenübertragung dank spezieller Schirmung
Belden hat sein Lumberg Automation™-Produktprogramm um neue Gigabit Ethernet-Steckverbinder erweitert. Diese Steckverbinder, die Datenraten von bis zu 10 Gbit/s unterstützen, haben ein kompaktes Design sowie eine spezielle Schirmung, die auch die einzelnen Adernpaare umfasst und so selbst bei starken elektromagnetischen Feldern eine zuverlässige Datenübertragung gewährleistet. Sie werden sowohl mit M12- oder RJ45-Anschlusstechnologie als auch mit angespritzter Leitung oder als frei konfektionierbare Ausführungen angeboten, die – optional – inklusive Kabel in Meterware erhältlich sind. Dadurch können die Steckverbinder flexibel eingesetzt und schnell in Betrieb genommen werden. Zu den weiteren Merkmalen gehören eine robuste Konstruktion, ein Temperaturbereich von bis zu -30° bis +90° C und – bei den M12-Ausführungen – Schutzart IP67. Damit ermöglichen die Gigabit Ethernet-Steckverbinder für eine Vielzahl von Applikationen hochverfügbare und wirtschaftliche Lösungen. Dazu zählen beispielsweise die Anbindung von IP-Kameras und Infotainment-Systemen in Zügen – eine Zulassung gemäß EN 50155 ist beantragt – oder die Verdrahtung komplexer Maschinen und Anlagen.
